Grannan, the American photographer whose exhibition “Hundreds of Sparrows” is currently on view at Salon 94 Bowery, has been looking carefully at overlooked people since the late nineties.

He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Armstrong Hamlin and her husband, Frank Mallory Hamlin of Dallas, Texas and Frances Armstrong Ladd and her husband, Edward Bradford Ladd, Jr. He leaves behind his six grandchildren in whom he took extra delight: Elizabeth Wilkes Hamlin, John Thompson Hamlin, Henry Talbott Hamlin, Frances Campbell Ladd, Edward Bradford Ladd, III and Sarah Ruffm Ladd.
